Times change. Relationships change. Technology changes. There is so much change around us that we can’t control. What we can control is our reactions to change – the ways in which we adapt. Several years ago, my Mom talked to me about the impact of age and menopause on her body. Especially vexing was her inability to find swimwear that accommodated those changes. Here is one change, I thought, I might be able to help women with.

The first suit I made for the collection - Infinity One Piece
Having spent 10 years designing (better yet, engineering) sports bras and other garments for a series of companies in New York City, I started thinking about the fit, quality of support and fabric of bathing suits. I concluded that there was a better way to provide more coverage on the bottom, enhance the top, and design mix and match pieces to best suit different body types. I sourced fabrics made to flatter and added coverups stylish and versatile enough to go into the water or into the bar. And so, Serotone Swim, was born.

I wanted to bring style and options back to swimwear. Not everyone feels comfortable in a bikini, which is why I wanted each style to be able to be worn in the water. The Black Geo Collection is my nod to classic elegance, while embracing the new.
It has taken about three years to develop a full line of swimwear, to put into place the many moving parts of launching and managing a company, especially one that involves manufacturing. Changes that I cannot control keep coming at me. How, for instance, will the war in the Middle East affect my supply and chain costing? Will the economy support the purchase of higher-end clothing? Will my sales team exceed my expectations?
Yes, change is constant and often challenging. But it also fosters creativity and resourcefulness. It keeps us on our toes and demands the best of us. So I am embracing change, wherever and however it happens. Without it, I wouldn’t have launched a new brand.
